
OVERVIEW
The KNUST Chess Club is dedicated to promoting the game of chess as a tool for intellectual development, strategic thinking, and community engagement. Open to all students, regardless of skill level, the club provides a welcoming space to learn, play, and compete in the game of chess, fostering a culture of critical thinking and mental discipline across campus.
ACTIVITIES
We run a variety of programs and events that nurture both competitive excellence and inclusive learning:
-Beginner Bootcamps
- Freshers’ tournament
- Inter-University Chess Competitions
- Internal Tournaments
- Chess & Chill Sessions
STRUCTURE & MEMBERSHIP
The club is governed by an executive committee comprising of president , vice president , general secretary, financial secretary, and social media team.
Membership is open to all KNUST students, regardless of faculty or experience level.
Students can join during the semester’s membership drive to access training, tournaments, and a dynamic chess community. We meet on Fridays and Saturdays at the PB tent from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm
