IAESTE KNUST

International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience

About IAESTE KNUST

IAESTE KNUST is the local chapter of a global, non-profit organization that connects students in science, engineering, technology, and applied arts to paid international technical training opportunities.

Through structured offer-raising and partnerships with companies worldwide, IAESTE secures exclusive internship placements each year. We help create these exclusive placements through offer-raising, working with companies to secure new placements. Each year, we facilitate international technical training placements lasting from four (4) to fifty-two (52) weeks.

By participating in IAESTE programmes, students gain:

•Real-world industry experience

•communication and professional skills

•Confidence from working in diverse, global environments

•Our mission is to equip students with the exposure, network, and experience needed to thrive anywhere in the world.

INITIATIVES & ACTIVITIES

Our initiatives at IAESTE KNUST are designed to build global-minded, industry-ready students.

Our Flagship programmes include:

•International Internship Orientation & Preparation Seminar

•Focused on CV writing, interview skills, and intercultural readiness.

•We also host international interns through the Inbound Student Reception & Cultural Immersion Activities and raise awareness via the annual IAESTE Day Celebration.

•Ongoing activities include offer-raising, capacity-building workshops and career development seminars.

STRUCTURE & MEMBERSHIP

The association is led by a Local Committee (LC) comprising the President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Public Relations Officer, who coordinate administration and student engagement. Functional committees (e.g., Reception, IT, Editorial) support smooth operations. Membership is open to all KNUST students, including those in STEM-related disciplines. Students can join during the semester's membership drive to gain access to IAESTE’s global internship network and training workshops.

IMPACT

Opportunities at IAESTE extend far beyond the classroom; students gain professional growth through hands-on technical experience, enhance their educational development via practical skills training, and gain significant cultural exposure and networking. This empowerment helps students develop holistically and make meaningful global contributions in their respective fields.
